Playing

As mines sprung up all along the Copper Range, communities of workers and their families sprung up along with them. These small towns - known as mine locations - became home to small pockets of people who all worked at the same mine. At the Copper Country's prime, dozens upon dozens of these small communities could be found up and down the peninsula. After the mines closed down and left, many of these towns remained.

Due to these scattering of small communities up and down the peninsula, there are a large amount of playgrounds to be found within them. Because of this the Keweenaw now boasts a large amount of playgrounds, almost one for every one of these small towns and communities. Many have been improved over the years, and all of them are available for use by the public.
