Summer is gearing up here in the Keweenaw, and so are the free events! Here’s a reminder for the free events for this week.

New this week to the Keweenaw Free Guide Calendar are the great Exploring Nature programs at McLain State Park. These events (different ones are held throughout the summer) are free to guests of McLain State Park. You do need a motor vehicle permit to drive into the park. But walking in is always free :)

Tuesday, June 8:

Opening Reception at the Carnegie Museum – Carnegie Museum in Houghton

Wednesday, June 9:
Exploring Nature – For the Birds at McLain State Park in Hancock
Education – How to Use a Simple Spreadsheet at the Calumet Public Library in Calumet

Friday, June 11:
Exploring Nature – Agates at McLain State Park in Hancock
Exploring Nature – Smores, Lore & Song at McLain State Park in Hancock

Saturday, June 12:
Exploring Nature – Wildflower Wander at McLain State Park in Hancock
Family Adventure Hike – Bare Bluff at Lac La Belle, MI (here’s our entry on Bare Bluff)
