One of the best ways to experience the natural beauty of the Keweenaw is by foot from along the many trails and paths meandering their way along the peninsula. The Copper Country offers a wide variety of unique and interesting terrain to explore, from the rugged pine slopes of the northern ridges to the rolling hardwood forests of the southern hills, and all the soaring bluffs and rocky overlooks in between. Mixed in for good measure are marshy lowlands, abandoned farmers fields, old mine sites, and of course the rocky and wind swept Superior shore.
