Keweenaw Swimming Beaches

The Keweenaw peninsula features a staggering amount of shoreline along not only Lake Superior but also the many inland lakes within its interior. Many of these shores have been improved for swimming, with the addition of sandy beaches and gradual drop offs. And while Lake Superior may not be known for its warm waters and wide sandy beaches, it too provides more then a few prime swimming spots that due to the lakes shallow depths provide surprisingly water temperatures for most of the summer.
